If you want to save some money on expensive home
repairs you may want to tackle some common home
repair jobs on your own. By calling someone to
make the repairs for you, you~ll be spending a lot of
money that you could be saving by doing some
things yourself. Doing your own repairs can be
daunting if you don~t know what you~re doing so
you may want to purchase a manual on home repair
to get you started. You may also want to buy a tool
box that comes with all the essential tools that you
need to make those repairs.

A hammer is going to be one tool that you~ll
definitely want to have in your tool box. There are
many different varieties of hammers that you can
choose from, but keep in mind that you don~t need
anything expensive. You~ll find that you use a
hammer for a variety of home repair jobs. Choose a
hammer that has a comfortable grip and that isn~t
too heavy or large in your hand.

If you~re going to be doing any type of measuring,
such as measuring a room to see if new furniture
will fit, you~ll want to have a tape measure to do the
job for you. Tape measures take the guessing out of
whether new furniture will fit and will also come in
handy for many other home repair jobs.

One tool that you absolutely can~t do without is a
screwdriver. You~ll want to have several different
sizes of screwdrivers, including a manual
screwdriver and perhaps a power one. For most
repair jobs a simple manual screwdriver works best.
To make sure that you have screwdrivers of all sizes
you can buy a screwdriver that has detachable bits.

You may find yourself having to tighten bolts for
many repair jobs and this is where wrench will
come in handy. You~ll want to make sure that they
wrench is an adjustable wrench so that you can
tighten all sizes of bolts.

Pliers can also be a very useful tool that your home
repairs may call for. Again, adjustable pliers are the
best choice. Any tools that you can find in an
adjustable version will give you a wider range of
uses for each tool. It also saves space, particularly
if you just want a small tool box and have little
room for storage.

Other items that you may want to keep in your tool
box are screws, bolts, and nails. Start out small
with just the essential accessories and tools so that
you can do the minimal amount of repair jobs
around the house. You~ll find that you save a great
deal of money when you can do some of your own
home projects.
