Ceiling Fan Perks

The invention of electricity soon made popular desktop and
stand-alone fans. The popularity of ceiling fans has been
shorter lived as they are a relatively new creation.
Mounted to ceilings to help move the air and cool entire
rooms, they have been around for the past few decades.
Here aresome ideas to think about for those considering
the installation of a ceiling fan.
A ceiling fan is cheaper than an air conditioner. Putting
in a room fan is cheaper than buying an air conditioner for
either the room or the entire house. In addition, it takes
less electricity to run a ceiling fan than it does an air
conditioner. Depending on where you live and how often you
would need to cool a room, you might end up spending
minimal costs for adequate ventilation. Of course, if you
live in a very warm or humid climate that dominates a good
part of the year, you might want to consider other options.
Or you can start with a fan and if it doesn't do the job
or stops working after a time, then you can move on to the
more expensive equipment.
Ceiling fans are easier to maintain than electric-run air
conditioners. After turning them off, you just wipe away
dust or debris, oil any connecting joints that need
lubrication, and you're ready to switch it back on. On the
other hand, maintaining your air conditioner may require
the services of a trained technician, which means you could
pay a house call fee that approaches $100 or more,
especially if the unit needs a new part. You should also
learn how to wipe off the outer surfaces to help keep dust
from clogging the motor.
Ceiling fan owners find that their units are less intrusive
and far more obliging than air conditioners. They are much
quieter and are available in numerous styles and sizes to
suit just about anyone's needs. An air conditioner may be
purchased with varying motor sizes but they unfortunately
remain similar in appearance making it a true burden to
beautify the rooms in which they reside. This is not the
case with ceiling fans as their designs can actually be
coordinated throughout the home with some owners choosing
a different fan design for every room.
When you opt to purchase a ceiling you are taking a
moderate approach to the cooling problem. In their
incessant quest to adjust room temperature, air
conditioners consume vast amounts of electricity while
their ceiling fan counterparts require little in comparison
and thus aid in energy conservation. If you are out
shopping for cooling options it is probably best to see
what is available in the ceiling fan aisle first.
